Today we officially launch the Republican Party of Great Britain & Northern Ireland.
There is a real appetite for positive change in this country. Our political system has been found severely wanting under the strain of Brexit and Covid-19. The current political system is broken and needs fixing.
Our immediate priorities are to:
- Fix out broken electoral system by using proportional representation in all national and local elections.
- Fix our broken political system by abolishing the undemocratic, inefficient House of Lords and replacing it with an elected Senate.
- Fuel economic growth by encouraging small businesses and reducing taxes.
- Protect freedom of speech through legislation.
In the coming days and weeks, we will produce our full range of policies.
Our submission to contest the 2021 local elections will be sent to the Electoral Commission on Tuesday 1st September.
