Policies

Our Policy Committee is due to publish a full list of policies on September 7th 2020.

Here is an abridged summary of our core policies:

The monarchy will be peacefully abolished and a parliamentary republic will be formed in its place. The Head of State, the President, will be elected by the people on a four year term. The President’s role will be to uphold the constitution.

The Prime Minister and parliament will continue to govern the country, with the President’s role being largely ceremonial.

The House of Lords will be abolished and replaced with an elected Senate. Unelected hereditary peers, unelected bishops, and political cronies will no longer have power over the British people.

The Senate will consist of 200 Senators, who will represent each region of the country and be elected using proportional representation every four years.

All future national and local elections will be conducted using Proportional Representation (PR) to better represent the true will of the British people.

Every vote will matter in every election. Citizens will have equal electoral power wherever they happen to live.

Free speech shall be protected. It is a precious liberty and it requires strong legal protection.

Laws that undermine free speech shall be overturned.

Laws bolstering free speech will be passed.

The state has no business legislating on religious matters. Religious belief, or lack thereof, is a matter for individuals.

Once the monarchy has been abolished, the Church of England’s ties with the state shall be severed.

Religious freedom, including freedom from religion, will be guaranteed for all citizens.

Small businesses are the engine that drive the economy. They create wealth, innovation, and jobs. We must incentivise entrepreneurialism and job creation.

Tax and regulatory burdens on businesses will be reduced.
